The third of six installments, Paul walks you through the improvements and additions to the API in jQuery 1.4. He demonstrates with real-world examples how you’ll put these new features to use, along with recommendations on performance and useful hints on the internals.

We’re excited to announce a new feature that landed on the jQuery API site today. Our first release of the API site marked a number of major improvements in design, organization, and content from the old docs site. We were really excited to bring jQuery developers a quick and easy way of finding the information they need.

Today, we have added keyboard navigation to the main and category pages. Just hit the down arrow key when you arrive to the site. Finding the document you need, will be as easy as typing in the search box to filter down the main page, arrowing down to it, and typing enter to navigate to that page.

Rick Waldron from Bocoup did an outstanding job delivering the intuitive interaction that we wanted from this feature. More information about the navigation can be found in their blog post on it.
